Entered active service 26 December 1940 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Served at Pearl Harbor Naval Air Station on 7 December 1941 and was Wounded In Action. Continued to serve at Pearl Harbor Naval Air Station until 26 April 1943 when he went into Flight Training . When he completed Flight Training he became an Ensign. He flew Hellcat and Corsair Fighters. He arrived in the Pacific Theater 30 November 1945 after the end of hostilities. He came back to the U.S. 2 March 1946. Separated from active service 25 April 1946 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
