He was at the defense of Bataan and Corregidor, survived the Bataan death March, and reenlisted in March of 1945. He received three Presidential unit citations, his World War II victory medal, two Philippine Defense medals, a Philippine Independence Medal, an American Defense Medal and ribbon, and three Philippine liberation medals. He also received four Asiatic-Pacific campaign medals and ribbons.
