Activity During WWII

Rank: Hospital Apprentice First Class. He served as a United States Navy Corpsman ‘Combat Medic’, assigned to the Seventh Marines and an element of the First Marine ‘the Old Breed’ Division. His division participated in the amphibious assault, and occupation of Okinawa Island Location: Northwest Pacific Theater of Operations. Friday, June 8, 1945 he was fatally wounded, during offensive operations against the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces. This Battle was the last major Battle-of-World War II. Personnel from a Graves Registration Company buried him in the First Marine Division Okinawa Battlefield Cemetery. In the post-war era, this Medic’s family requested that he be buried with Military Honors at: Honolulu Memorial Cemetery, with interment March 8, 1949 Location: Honolulu, Hawaii. In his Memory, this American Patriot received the following Decorations posthumously: Bronze Star, Purple Heart. The Bronze was awarded for his Bravery, Act of Merit and Meritorious Service in Combat. The Purple Heart was awarded for his Heroism, and ultimate sacrifice. He served his Country with Pride and Honor.
