Activity During WWII

Served in the Marine Corps from July 1942 to December 1945. Deployed to the Pacific Region in July 1943. Assigned to the 22nd Marine Regiment in action in the Marshall Islands and the 22nd Engineering Company in action in Guam. Assigned to the Headquarters & Service Company in the 6th Engineer Battalion on Tank Landing Ship (LST) 1030 during the amphibious invasion of Okinawa. Honorably discharged from service on Christmas Day 1945. Shown on the wing of B-29 Superfortress bomber "Goin Jesse" on Tinian Island in the North Pacific.
