Activity During WWII

He entered active service December 4, 1943, at Fort Sheridan,ILL, as a machine gunner heavy 605, Combat Infantry Badge. The Battles and Campaigns were Normandy ; Northern France; Rhineland. He was wounded on October 25, 1944 in Germany. His decorations and citations were as follows; EAME Theater ribbon W/3 bronze stars; good conduct ribbon; World War II victory medal; Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged and returned to the United States of America on the ship “ Queen Mary “ on December 9, 1945.
