Activity During WWII

Served in Australia in the Army Military Police - 799th Battalion, before being deployed to Manila in the Philippines, where he served as Battalion supply sergeant--i.e., a quartermaster. It is believed he served overseas for about 2-1/2 years. While overseas, Jerry received a T/S (Tech Specialist) rating, followed by a Sergeant rating and then a Tech Sergeant Rating (skipping the Staff Sergeant rating). After the war, he returned to the States on a Liberty Ship; initially to San Francisco at Camp Stoneman, and then to Fort McCoy, in Wisconsin, where he was honorably discharged.
