He served as part of the 1st Marine Division Fleet Marine Force under George William McHenry in Tientsin, China from Christmas 1944-1946. He was part of the Marine Corps only parachute regiment airborne corps. Her served bravely and continued as part of the United Nations effort to stop the Chinese Communist Party in Tsingtao and Tientsin.
