A Navy veteran of WWII who attained the rank of Lieutenant during 3 ½ years of active duty. He graduated from the Navy’s 8-month Reserve Officer Naval Architecture School at the Univ. of Michigan, and served as a Submarine Repair Officer and dry-docking officer at the Mare Island Navy Yard in Vallejo, California. He was then shipped overseas as Officer in Charge of the YFD 27, a floating dry dock in Bahia, Brazil.
