He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as a member of the 3D Air Depot Supply Squadron. Stationed at Agra, India, he served as a supply technician in the U.S.A effort to support Chinese and Burmese participation in the war effort. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.
