Activity During WWII

Served from 1943 - 1946 with US Army's First Armored Division under the command of General Mark W. Clark. Served as a medic. Landed at Anzio, Italy, when first deployed. Was among first troops to enter liberated Rome. Saw Benito Mussolini hanging from a steel girder above a gas station in Milan. Served in the Occupation Army in Germany after the end of WWII. Assisted the OSS with interrogations of guards at Dachau because of proficiency with the German language.
