He was inducted on November 28, 1942 and was honorably separated at the convience of the government (demobilization) on December 28, 1945. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign in New Guinea and the Southern Phillipines including Luzon. He was awarded the Phillipine Liberation Ribbon with 2 bronze service stars, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 bronze service stars, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal and Army Good Conduct Medal.
