His unit came to Europe after D-Day. He was in Company K, but I don't have any other identifiers for his unit or company. He was wounded in Germany when a bomb exploded nearby. The shrapnel tore into his neck and head, severing the optic nerve to both eyes rendering him blind. He was awarded a purple heart for his service.
