Activity During WWII

Served in the US Army from September 28, 1942 to December 17, 1946. While serving in Europe he developed an infection in his hand which ultimately led to amputation of his arm. He was awarded a Purple Heart. After the war he continued to serve his community as the chief of the volunteer fire department in the village of Wilmot, Ohio for many years. He is buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wilmot, Ohio in Section 10, Lot 12.
