He served with the US Army Corps of Engineers in the 1099 Engineer Utilities Detachment. He served with 12 Army Group in Europe from May 1944 through August 1945. He participated in the Battles/Campaigns of Ardennes, Northern France, Central Europe, Normandy and Rhineland. He returned safely home and received the World War II Victory Medal.
