He served in the Army Air Corps as a tail gunner on B-17s. He was stationed in England and they saw most of their action going back and forth to Germany as they bombed various targets. Two of the B-17s he was on went down. Thankfully they were not captured nor was he seriously injured. He received various medals for the time he served but I do not remember what they were. I am very proud of the sacrifices my grandparents made and the contributions they made in helping to maintain our country's freedom.
