He served in the 82nd Airborne, 504th parachute regiment, company A. He started in North Africa in 1943 and jumped in and participated in the Sicily/Italy campaign. He participated in the invasion of Europe, Market Garden, and Battle of the Bulge. He fought in the Europe countries of France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and North Africa. He received a purple heart for wounds in the Bulge. Also received a Bronze star medal and company citation letter.
