My father served in World War II He was drafted and sent to Europe and Germany. He received a Purple Heart Medal due to bullet fragments shatter when it hit his helmet and entered into his ear this caused hearing loss. He joined and participated many functions with the Veterans of Foreign War group and The Disabled American Veterans lodge in Brooklyn New York. My mom joined the ladies auxiliary to help. My father has passed away in the veterans hospital in Brooklyn NY on January 11 1990.
