Activity During WWII

He worked as a crane operator at the naval base at Pearl Harbor. The machine he was working in was located near the drydock that the USS Pennsylvania, had been moved for repairs. On December 7, 1941, he could see the attack coming. He positioned his crane in a way that helped block the Pennsylvania , while alerting her crew. He is credited with helping down 10 different aircraft. He and his crane were eventually targeted and a 500 pound bomb knocked him out. He made a full recovery.
