Born July 17, 1913, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on January 3, 1944. He was assigned to A Company, 1st Amphibian Tractor Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Participating in the Battles of Peleliu and Okinawa as well as the Marine Corps occupation of Northern China, stationed in Peking. He would return home and retire to Dover Plains, New York where he passed on December 13, 1985.
