Entered the Army, October 14, 1943. Service Number 39713583. He was sent overseas in March to the Pacific Theater and served as a gunner in a mortar section assigned to C Company, 1st Battalion, 126th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division. He landed on Ormoc Beach in the Battle of Leyte, Philippines on November 14, 1944 and was Killed in Action December 13, 1944. He was interred in a temporary cemetery in the Philippines and returned home on the Army funeral ship Dalton Victory in August, 1944.
