Enlisted in the US Army Air Corps Sept. 5 1942. Served in the 49th Bomb Squadron, 2nd Bomb Group, the " Forgotten Fifteenth" Air Force. Was stationed in Foggia, Italy and worked as an Airplane and Engine mechanic repairing B-17 and B-24 heavy bombers. He was awarded the Good Conduct medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and the World War II Victory Medal. Was discharged from the service at Fort Meade, Md. December, 11th 1945.
