Activity During WWII

After months of training throughout the United States he was shipped out for a short stay in Hawaii. Then started island hoping for months throughout the South Pacific Islands finally participating in the liberation of the Philippine Islands sometime in late 1944. After almost two years’ service fighting in the South Pacific and the Philippine Island Campaign, preparations were underway for the invasion of Japan. After the bomb was dropped on Japan the war came to an end, He spent the remainder of his time on the islands and returned to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in late 1945.
