He was Honorably Discharged from the 1408th Army Air Force Base Unit, European Division, Foreign Transport Section in Orly, Seine-et-Marne, Île-de-France, France on May 6th, 1946. He married a French woman he met during his service, the next year, but they both tragically died in a car crash in 1956. They left behind three sons.
