Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the US Army on January 19, 1942. While serving on a personal mission for General Douglas MacArthur on May 14, 1944, the A-20G "Barry's Baby" plane he was a passenger on crashed into the sea for unknown reasons. He was assigned to the 5th Air Force, Headquarters Advanced Echelon as a courier. The plane was bound for the Nadzab Airfield in New Guinea. He is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery.
