Activity During WWII

He was drafted on December 10, 1942 and served in the 94th Infantry, 301st Infantry Division, Company F. On September 8, 1944, he landed on Utah Beach and two weeks later was struck in the leg. Received the Purple Heart for this and later the Bronze Star. Served in England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia and four major battles. During the war, his division became responsible for holding more than 52,000 German troops while covering a 365 mile front, the longest in military history for a single division.
