He entered the Army on April 11, 1945 at Fort Ord, California. He served there in Co D 4th Repl Regt AGFRD #2 as a Rifleman until November 1, 1945 when he was discharged. On November 2, 1945, he re-enlisted at Fort Ord, moved on to the Fort Sheridan, Illinois Reception Center and shipped out to the ETO on January 18, 1946. He served in Germany/Austria in E TRP 4TH CONST SQ, in the District Constabulary with an MOS of Truck Driver Light until his return to the USA on October 25, 1946. He was discharged from Fort Sheridan, Illinois on December 3, 1946.
