Activity During WWII

Entering service in September of 1942, he served as a fighter pilot with the 362nd Fighter Group, 379th Fighter Squadron, of the 9th Air Force. He fought in legendary campaigns in the liberation of Europe, until his plane was hit and crashed on January 22nd, 1945. Highly decorated, his awards included the Presidential Unit Citation, the Purple Heart and the Air Medal. His selfless contributions helped to turn the war around and ultimately helped to ensure Allied victory over the dark forces of tyranny.
