Entering service in 1941, he served with the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the famed 82nd Airborne Division and fought near St. Mere Eglise in the famous D Day landings. He was sadly later lost on July 4th, 1944 in The Normandy Campaign during the liberation of occupied Europe.
