He was park of K. Company, 302nd Infantry during World War II. He participated in multiple efforts in World War II to include battles in Northern France, specifically in the Saint Nazaire Efforts, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Lampaden Ridge, and battles in the Rhineland. He was enlisted as a PVT and rose to the rank of 1SGT during the war. He received a Combat Infantry Badge, American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
