Activity During WWII

He took basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia and was assigned to the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) which was later attached to the newly designated 82nd Airborne Division. He saw combat in Morocco, Sicily and Italy in Company A, 1st Battalion, 504th PIR and the 3rd Infantry Division. He was awarded the Silver Star on 1/30/1944 for his heroic actions in Italy. He then was shipped to Europe where he served in France and Belgium, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was killed in action on 1/30/1945 near Liege, Belgium. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
