Bronze Service Arrowhead – Antitank Company, 442nd Infantry Regiment, was assigned to the First Airborne Task Force on 16 July 1944, and further attached to the 517th Parachute Infantry Combat Team on 3 August 1944. The members participated as glider-borne troops in the Southern France invasion on 15 August 1944. The gliders left Italy on 1600 hour, 15 August 1944, and landed in the vicinity of Les Arcs, Southern France, on D-Day, approximately 1800 hour, 15 August 1944, on hostile territory. He was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead (BSA), Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), and Glider Badge (GB).
