T/SGT. Albert W. Zaveri went into the Army Air Corps in Dec. 1941. He was assigned to a B-17 42-3053 / Desperate Journey as the ENG/TT. On 21/ May/1943 Desperate Journey went Missing in Action near Wilhelmshafen, Germany. An enemy aircraft set the B-17 on fire. 2 crew members bailed out and were POWS. 2 LT Joseph H. Ferry. Nav. S/SGT Robert W. Abt. BT 8 crew members were KIA. 1 LT Norbert D. Koll. Pilot 2 LT Wayne L. Buck. Co- Pilot 2 LT Edwin M Bruton. Bomb T/SGT Albert W. Zaveri ENG/TT T/SGT Alfredo L. Davila.
