Activity During WWII

He volunteered in 1940 and served at Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal and the Marshall Islands. On July 5, 1944 while a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, his unit invaded the island of Saipan and he was shot and killed by a sniper. He was wounded three times and received the Navy Cross and Purple Heart. His body was unable to be recovered. In July 2022, his remains were identified by the military DPAA.and his remains were buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii.
