Entered the Army on June 10, 1941. Was stationed at Scofield Barracks on the island of Oahu, Hawaii and witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Then sent to Officers Candidate at Camp Davis, North Carolina and was assigned to the 4th Infantry Division. He participated in the landing at Utah Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944 and later involved in the Battle of the Bulge. Was discharged on September 25, 1945. After the was was a successful business owner. He passed away at the age of 102 and is buried at West Lawn Cemetery, Baltic, Ohio.
