Arrived/assigned in Europe in October,1944, to Company A, 17th Tank Battalion, 7th Armored Division as a replacement tank crewman. Fought in Battle of the Bulge until his tank was hit on 22 January 1945 outside of Born, Belgium while proceeding to retake the village of St. Vith, Belgium. Unfortunately, he and 3 other tank crewmen were KIA. He is interred in Henri-Chapelle Cemetery in Belgium.
