He served in the Asiatic-Pacific theater on LST-743 and was involved in operations in Manus Island, Milne Bay, Cairns, Australia, Tarakan Island, Brunie Bay, Borneo, New Guinea, Leyte, Mindoro, Bataan, Luzon, Manila, Subic Bay, Corregidor, Philippines and Zamboanga. He earned the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 1 Bronze Star, the Navy Occupation SVC Medal with Asia Clasp, the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon-Foreign with 1 Bronze Star, the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation – Foreign, the Purple Heart Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in May of 1946 from USN Personnel Separation Center, Lido Beach, Long Island, New York.
