Activity During WWII

He was enlisted in the Navy from October 1940- November 1946. Trained at Newport Naval Station. Served aboard the Vincennes (12/21/40-8/9/42). He was a survivor of the bombing and sinking of the Vincennes at the battle of the Solomons. He served aboard the USS Sante Fe (2/14/43-Sept 1944). He earned 7 engagement stars for this service. Later he participated in service at Jacksonville, Florida and San Francisco, California. He was honorably discharged and is buried at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
