Activity During WWII

BM 1st Class Flannigan enlisted in the U.S. Navy 8 days after the Japanese bombed Pear Harbor at the age of 17. He served for 5 years and 5 months. He rose to the rank of Boatswain Mate 1st Class and served on the USS Design, USS Warrick, USS PCE 884, USS LSM 464, USS YMS 368, USS YMS 368, USS Charger, and the USS Dauphin. He received the Good Conduct medal with one bronze star. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Metal with one bronze star. His other metals include the Philippines Liberation Medal, the Victory Medal for WWII, and the American Campaign Medal WWII.
