Activity During WWII

He served in WWII with the USS Teals DE Destroyer 748th Army. Young Dung Poo, Korea. Tokyo Rose talked over radio. Fort Seal for basic. Said they had to sit low in boat with heads down on way to Korea couldn’t get air, so hot. It was so cold there that he almost lost toes. Stayed a year and a half. Could write letters home. Said they had to get low and man held pistol to them he said he was serious too. Got no vacation or leave. They boated him home on the USS General LeRoy Eltinge to Antioch CA. Got on a bus to Lucedale. He was a T4 Sargent same as Buck Sargent. Depression was going on so went to Nola to sign up for Navy and they sent him to Charleston, SC.
