Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 25 August 1942. He served as a corpsman in the Pacific until the Navy sent him back to the United States where he became an officer. He was assigned to the U.S.S. Almandite. He served 3 years 2 months active duty then joined the Naval reserves. He resigned on 2 September 1955 and received an honorable discharge. He then joined the Army reserve so he could teach biology at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell where he was promoted to the rank of captain. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Army reserves on 17 June 1959.
