He served with the 480th Engineer Maintenance Co in ETO for 30 months. He worked on the machine shop truck, went out into the field to repair all types of equipment on the spot. Could make any type of repair or make any heavy parts…gears, shafts, nuts etc. using all power machines. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He participated in the Rhineland Campaign.
