Reported 18 December, 1940 U.S.S. Marilyn, Long Beach, CA January 27, 1941 Reported for duty U.S.S. Helena, Pearl Harbor He was onboard U.S.S. Helena December 7, 1941 during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He was B Division Officer and secured the boiler room. Pearl Harbor Commemorative medal Battle of Kula Gulf July 6, 1943 He was on board when the Helena was sunk. USS Cannberra October 13, 1944 torpedoed He was on board USS Canberra He was on Canberra for the 14 day tow from Formosa to first repair base at Ulithi, Carolina Islands (Streamlined Bait Group). He remained on board the USS Canberra to the Boston Navy Yard arrival February 16, 1944 He was a Naval Reservist after WWII.
