Flight commander of the B-24 Dogpatch Raiders. Flew in Operation Tidal Wave on 1 August 1943 and received the Silver Star. Flew with the 93rd Bomb Group then transferred to the 482nd Bomb Group. Perished on 23 January 1944, testing radar systems in preparation for the invasion of Normandy. Medals received include the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal.
