Activity During WWII

Private Charles R. Hill 19050427, entered the Army Air Corp. in 1940, 24 years old. His preliminary training was at the Army Field in Glendale, CA with advanced training in Albuquerque NM before he was shipped to the Philippines about a month before Pearl Harbor. He was captured on Bataan and was in Prison Camp #1, north of Manila for three year. He was killed in action when a Japanese ship, bearing American prisoners of war were being transferred from the Philippine Islands to Japan, was sunk on October 24, 1940. There were no survivors.
