Activity During WWII

Captain William F. Murphy 81st Infantry Div was KIA on the island of Peleliu on 9/28/1944. He was leading Co K 321st Regimental Combat Team on Bloody Nose Ridge near East Road, Hill B and the 321st Infantry Trail when he was killed. Posthumously Awarded the Silver Star he is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
