He was assigned to the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star Metal and the Purple Heart Metal. He was considered MIA in Italy on July 11, 1944. He is memorialized at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery.
