Activity During WWII

Stanley was an U.S. Army WWII veteran stationed in the Pacific Theater. He enlisted as Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas on May 28, 1943. Inactive from May 28, 1943 to June 4, 1943. Did basic training in Combat Engineers at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and in September 21, 1943 transferring to the 3rd Engineer Special Brigade (Amphibious Engineers). He received orders to ship overseas and left the United States on November 23, 1943 landing in New Guinea (Milne Bay) in December 11, 1943. He served in New Guinea, Dutch New Guinea, Biak Island, Noemfoor and other Islands in the area. He also served at Luzon Island of the Philippines, Hokaido and Honshu Islands of Japan. He departed homeward from Tokyo Bay on November 18th, 1945 and was separated from service at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri on December 15, 1945. Honorably Discharged.
