He was inducted into the Army on 11/11/1942 and assigned to the 82d General Hospital at Camp White, Medford, Oregon, where he went through basic training. The 82nd left Boston Port of Embarkation 28 February 1944, arriving at Liverpool, England 10 March and later arrived in Iscoyd Park, Flintshire, Wales, United Kingdom. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Ribbon and the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon. He was discharged on 11/3/1945.
