He served in the 4th Com Cor APO 218. He entered the military on January 20, 1944 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 19. He received an Honorable Discharge on May 13, 1946. He went to Radio Operator and Mechanic School, AAFTS Scott Field, Illinois. He completed the 20 week course with the rating of excellent. He was radio operator and mechanic 2756. AAF Air crew MM M1 & 45 Pistol. He served in China and Central Burma. He received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and Air Medal. He flew on the B-17 and other aircraft as ordered. He acquired 500 hours of flying time of which 135 hours is combat time in the Pacific Theater.
