Served in WWII Jun 23,1943-Nov 10, 1945. He was in the 34th Infantry Regiment during the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was involved in hand to hand combat in the Philippines prior to General McArthur's return. He was also in New Guinea GO 40 WD45 and Southern Philippines Luzon GO 33 AD 45. During his time in the army he earned Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
